In the near future, a family is torn apart as they flee their homeland, which has been devastated by climate change. Arriving alone in a deserted modern city, with wild animals who have claimed the streets, the child discovers unlikely allies in this strange new jungle. Inspired by Rudyard Kipling's classic, The Jungle Book, Akram Khan reinvents Mowgli's journey through the eyes of a climate refugee. With an original soundtrack, 10 international dancers and state-of-the-art visual effects – the stage is transformed into a magical world which allows us to delve into a contemporary myth – “Jungle Book reimagined” is a show about the intrinsic need to relate to one another and the importance of connecting with, and respecting, nature.
